Hi.
(apologies if I have posted in the wrong category)
Got a school project for my child where we need to take photographs of Greek architecture (inc statues, columns & pillars) in a city centre (our closest is Liverpool), also showing examples of Doric, Ionic & Corinthian pillars.
Can anyone help with suggestions?
Obviously there's St Georges Hall, but I'm a little stuck after that.

This site has some examples of Greek architecture and if you scroll through I think it may give you some ideas.0 -
Interesting question !
As well as St Georges Hall you have the World Museum nearby - apparently these both have Corinthian columns.
The Bank of England building has Doric columns

as does the Royal Insurance building
and the Lyceum has ionic ones

I found these with about five-ten minutes googling (I just put 'xxxx columns in Liverpool'), so I suggest that (depending on their age) you give your child a chance to try and find them for themselves rather than just give them it....0 -
Not Liverpool, but just down the road in St. Helens, Eccleston Hall has Greek Doric columns. Some other buildings in this link mention Doric features. Doric is one of the three orders of Ancient Greek architecture, and later Roman, (according to Google!), but I don't know whether the other Doric features are Greek or Roman.

If its greek style buildings around Merseyside or most of the uk for that matter its difficult . The bank of England as mentioned alongside the museum and st georges hall . St Nicks Greek church is a different type of building and interesting , I'm struggling to think of decent buildings with columns . Try having a google on town halls . St Helens . Birkenhead and southport . good luck  I could recommend a few kebab houses:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
