Anyone had any luck negotiating Student Loan Settlement Offer?

Hello

I've been given another settlement offer from the student loans company, it is a lot lower than last years offer so I am very tempted.

I was just wondering, has anyone successfully haggled them down on the settlement offer? I think I will probably be deferring next year, so they may offer an even lower one then, but there is a chance I might not be able to defer after that.

I will phone them next week and see, but I was just wondering if anyone's already had success in getting it lowered?
