Insuring Damp Course

Hi All,

We are in the process of selling up and we had a damp course done 2-3 years ago, selling to an older couple who want a copy of the gaurentee or some type of insurance in case anything happens.

There is no damp so no claims will be made, the contractor who did it has died unfortunately! so we can't go through him, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how i can rectify this? Could i even get insurance on the damp that would be transferred upon sale or a gaurentee type thing?

Thanks,

Would it be possible to get some form of indemnity insurance through the solicitors dealing with the sale? That'd be my first port of call. It might not be the cheapest but I'd be surprised if insurance this would cost much.

THanks for the reply - funnily enough we have actually located the 10 years guarantee, although the company is no longer about but not going to divulge that!
