Cant find who I was insured with

Hi, home insurance due in a few days but had no contact from my last insurance company asking me to renew. I had a look and could not find any paper bills and I had a computer crash last year and lost all emails so I cant remember who Im with.

Checked bank statement and the payment went to Royal Sun Alliance but I've tried to log onto their site and it does not recognise me! Does anyone know which popular companies run under their banner as Im guessing Im insured with another company but the payment goes to the parent company?

On a slightly different tangent does an insurance company have to contact you before they re-insure you, and give you the chance to end the contract. I would have thought so but I've heard nothing via post or email and I don't want them to take another years premium from my bank.

Thanks
