Old cheque

Hi,
I cam across an old cheque from Inland Revenue from 2006 while having a clear out
Given that it's quite out of date can I request they reissue it or have I just lost out since it's been so long?
Thanks

Debts have a limitation of 6 years. The bank won't touch a cheque that old and HMRC have no legal requirement to re-issue it.0

Certainly worth asking for a new one if the bank won't cash it.0

The bank account on which it has been drawn might have even been closed as they moved banks in 2009 (and have since moved again to Barclays)

You’ll have to post it back to HMRC, they should have records but how long they keep it for is hard to tell0
