Are there bank accounts for 8/9 year olds?

Are there any bank accounts other than the |HSBC my money account for young kids?

I'm drawing a blank,.

Hi. I know Santander do one, 123 Mini.

I still have my Bank of Scotland Super Squirell plastic bank, they used to throw things at children to open accounts.

Hope you find something suitable.

One or two. Most start at 11. For under 11s, prepaid cards are possibly a better choice https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/cards-for-under-18s/

I was able to open a '123 mini account (in trust)' in branch for a newborn where I became the trustee of the account (it appears on my online banking but does not include a card).

OP: Does it have to be an account with a debit card? It's this criteria that seems to be restricted to 11+

Nationwide have the FlexOne account for young people, but the minimum age is 11, same as Santander.

Are there bank accounts for 8/9 year olds?
