The "INFO#SHOP555.DE" Amazon Giftcard scam

Pardon me if this has been long since discussed, but this poster feels it's still worth refreshing, as it pains me to see that this Giftcard scam still continues folks, and really, there needs to be a sticky &/or far more general awareness raised about it. IOW, It's quite unbelievable that it still continues, and for so long = so obviously there must be at least some people who must still... be falling for it.
In case anyone isn't aware of it yet - you will be watching out for that one favourite yet very expensive item to fall in price on Amazon. One day, you will see that that item which sells for the best part of a grand usually, will suddenly appear on Amazon marketplace, in "like new" condition, at £455 including "FREE delivery ...woopee doo" with the following message, only to find that once you click on the Marketplace seller's name -
"All orders placed without my agreement are automatically canceled. So ask me before you place an order) The product was only used for advertising purposes in my shop, and the price was so low that it was unpacked - full warranty, full accessories New, never used-Before buying please let me know here: INFO # SHOP555.DE ( Please change the # a @)"
You now have three options.
Option 1) Realise it's the same old giftcard scam, which amazon should have gotten a grip of, long ago, and move on....
Option 2) IF you should contact the marketplace seller via amazon's own internal email service, to enquire about buying that item, of their 4000+ items (all at the same price of £455, and all allegedly shown in the same shop window beforehand), you will usually get an email back claiming that their seller's account was inadvertently taken over by some dodgy bunch, and they honestly have no such knowledge of the product you've been waiting to buy: moreover, they don't even have it in stock! So there! Sigh...
Option 3) IF you should attempt to contact "wearethescammers@shop555.de"
then you will usually be asked to provide them Amazon giftcards to the tune of £455, and once they have succeeded in taking your giftcards they will allegedly send you your item, which if you believe that, you really should pay attention to the rest of this sentence, as of course, that will be the last you will hear from them.
Frankly, please tell me that no one on this forum, has fallen for this scam, and better still that you even know anyone who has ever fallen for it? But if you have, since this was last discussed, please post your warning here for all to see, because this scam is obviously still reeling in unsuspecting victims, otherwise they wouldn't be bothered running it to this day!

Agreed with you there are definitely people out there becoming victim of scammers. Recently i bumped into similar kind of amazon scam and upon searching found steps on onlineprivacytips.co site to remove amazon assistant virus. Now the scamming script is gone form my system....i request members to avoid downloading from the unknown sources to escape such events.0

The "INFO#SHOP555.DE" Amazon Giftcard scam
Hi
The scam has now been changed, it is now bank transfer and they send very convincing emails that look like they are from amazon. The links even take you to Amazon.
I am 1 of the stupid people that fell for this scam i ordered 2 of them to the tune of £910,i know i should of known better SHOP555 has lots of items on Amazon and good feed back all his items also said to contact INFO@SHOP555.DE to place order. Regarding hearing from them again you most certainly do send more . At first they look and sound like Amazon till you have transferred money then they email off INFO@SHOP555.DE, not very nice ones either.
I find it disgusting that Amazon still have this seller on Amazon Marketplace.
If anybody has any advice on how to try and get my money back i would be very grateful0 -

Sorry to hear of your experience, just to clarify though, what I meant was that you won't hear from them once they've been sufficiently 'successful' i.e., disgraceful in taking your good money.
Pardon me for asking but have you asked your bank for help with the scam bank transfer, and if you did, have they been in any way helpful with you?0 -
Have you actually been in touch with Amazon?0

Just FYI folks, the info#shop55.de seems to have just been reborn as: SHOPskates4U # G M A I L , C 0 M
As ever - avoid at all costs. What's more, they seem to have just modified the former, and long running scheme of pricing everything at 455 too.
Well here's hoping that one of these days, this scam will be on its last legs, but for the timebeing, watch out!0
