Help please I was sold PPI by an Independent Financial Advisor working at Abbey National (we sat in the branch so I had assumed he was working for them!) in 1995 I have my mortgage number but no other details. Is there any chance I could be any money back??

IFA were not regulated until 2005 so they don't even need to consider your complaint so this will not progress anywhere.
That said, very little MPPI is miss-sold as it protects your home if you lost your job, only in rare circumstances would it be considered bad to have it such as if the policy would not cover youSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I have sat in a B/S branch to do insurances and the mortgage in the past. Used to be commonplace. Now very rare.was sold PPI by an Independent Financial Advisor working at Abbey National (we sat in the branch so I had assumed he was working for them!)Is there any chance I could be any money back??
None whatsoever.
1) 10 years prior to insurance regulation
2) its IFA sold. So unlikely to have been missold in the first place (uphold rate on IFAs is low on PPI at around 5%. PPI is not seen as an IFA problem)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Thanks for your help at least I wont be wasting my time trying to claim.0
