Lost mortgage details

I’ve been trying to see if I have PPI for my first ever mortgage with northern rock over 20 years ago. I had shared with the company etc but I’ve lost the account details. though I have given them the address and year they say they’re it’s are too old to trace ? How is this possible can anyone advise. I’m sure I would have had PPI on this.

Who did you buy the NR mortgage through? Most NR mortgages were done via brokers/estate agents etc. Not via the branch.

It was called the data protection act and more recently the GDPR. Data must be retained for no longer than is necessary. This means firms must destroy and remove data that is no longer required. Typically around 6 years after closure.

And if you never had MPPI in the first place, they cant find something you didnt have.
