Can i reclaim tax deducted from PPI

I've had a successful PPI claim from Lloyds they have deducted tax I understand why but my question is can i reclaim it. I'm currently looking for work and on JSA so I'm not sure how it works. I've told jsa about my success and because it's under 6k they said all was OK my claim isn't affected. Any info gratefully appreciated.

There is a form to reclaim tax on interest, R40 maybe I can't remember. You won't need to pay interest as a lower rate tax payer unless you're over £1000 of combined interest from this and savings

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • Thanks the PPI was from a loan I had in 2000-2003 whilst working full time will it affect my tax credits now any ideas.
