Travel insurance warning

Options
I recently bought the Leisureguard travel insurance recommended on this site; did not have time to read the policy document in any detail but looked at the summary and it seemed to cover the main areas that one would expect.

I was left stranded on my way home, and was shocked to discover that I had no cover for this: there is a section of the policy headed "missed connections/departure" but it seems to apply only to the outward journey.

I wonder what other risks that one would expect a travel insurance policy to cover are excluded from many or most of the cheaper policies on the market. I hope that most people know that the luggage and personal possessions section does not apply to electronic devices such as mobile telephones...

as you said yourself, never rely on Summary and read the T+C carefully
