Switching but energy bill still goes up!

I recently switched from coop energy to Tonik as that appeared the best deal. But my direct debit has still increased from £212 to £260. So wonder whether all these amazing savings you see listed are all just assuming you don't do anything but stay on the bog standard rate. As over the years my bills have never gone down but just upwards despite always moving when a fixed deal finishes.

DD increase due to using more .
Energy prices are not on a downward curve .
The more you switch to the better deals then the less savings you make .
I saved nothing on current new deal as i was on a cheap deal .0 -
OP - could you post your annual consumptions in kWh not £ please - have you got a mansion ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Why wonder?
Sites such as EHL and CEC make it very clear what is being compared.
If you don't do anything (switch or at least transfer to another tariff) you will move to the supplier's bog standard rate at the end of the fixed term.0 -

I see the OP has been back since you asked these 2 questions - was here as recently as a quarter to two this morning, but no answer yetsounds like a mansion with an AGA.
...
Maybe it's all that burning of the midnight oil that makes things so expensive for the OP?

I don't think this is domestic - it's a business
OP are you trying to run your business from a domestic supply ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
