Journeys NOT starting in the UK

Hi
I now spend most of the year living on Corfu, Greece.
What I would like to know is there any advice for arranging travel insurance (for over 65s) when the journey doesn't begin in the UK - ie from Corfu. All the advice I've found so far are for journeys starting from the UK.

I look forward to your help, thanks

Surely Greece has travel insurance companies?
Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right
  • There are, obviously, but not the cheapest and some definitely not the most secure, so haven't gone down that road just yet. We have house contents insurance and have insurance covering our car - it's the car and not the drivers that are insured in Greece and we have had 2 companies which have gone bust over the years. So I wanted something really secure, like a British company.

If you are not a UK resident and your journey does not start in the UK then none of the mainstream companies will insure you.

The above is probably correct , I can only suggest speaking to true traveller or globe link.
I got insurance last year when I was already abroad

World Nomads is another option, but as I understand it if cover is available it will be a lot more costly than UK based cover, so as suggested you may be better to look for local insurers.

What about a major international insurance company that operates in Greece?

    For example: https://www.axa.gr/en/all-products/travel-insurance/
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

Have you asked your house insurer? I know house insurance can sometimes cover travel also (limited time per year

I love Corfu, spent many wonderful holidays there (NE)
