I've only one credit card that I've had 17 months and I'm now not happy with the providers customer service. I do not intend to use them anymore but is it better for my credit rating to close the account or keep open and no longer use it? (I'll now intend on getting a different credit card elsewhere) I've always paid well over minimum payments or in full each month.

Keep it and use it from time to time to keep it live.
Once you have two or three other well established cards, you could think about closing it.0 -
Unless you are having issues then there should be no reason to contact a customer service team.
Keep and use the card and pay it off in full each month rather than making just the minimum payments.
This will help establish your credit history (not the made up score or rating)0 -
or close, it will then be settled with good credit history. you then move on and get another card or 20
