Home insurance for tree damage to wall?

Hi,
Our boundary wall is brick and quite tall.
A combination of IVY and some tree branches have damaged the wall on the corner so badly that the council forced us to knock part of it down and put up temporary fencing.
Our house has some building work going on at the moment so we asked the builders for advice. They suggested we claim on our home insurance.
I have never claimed on home insurance before. Does anyone have any advice? Do you think we stand a chance of getting help paying for the wall to be rebuilt.
I have checked boundary walls are covered by the policy. And we have been with our current insurer for 18 months.

Good luck! I suspect that as the wall already had ivy on it and branches all over it when you took out the policy that you'll have a snowball's chance in hell... but you never know, what have you got to lose by trying?0
