Bit of Help needed

Hi,

i have successfully reclaimed PPIs that were taken out in my husband's name on joint mortgages and loans. He sadly passed away in 2014 and to date I have not had to show anything other than death cert and copy of last will as sole executor and beneficiary to claim the monies.

Our previous and last to claim on mortgage was with Bradford and Bingley - I got the details of where to write via Resolver.

They have been a nightmare! They lost my questionaire twice and I had to redo... they kept writing out to me with wrong account numbers then sent me masses of stuff for another client with ALL confidential account/address information and ignored my letter re data breach...

They have had a copy of the death cert, asked for a copy of the will as a standard procedure and then wrote to say my claim had been upheld although it took over 11 weeks to get to that point.

they are now demanding a grant of probate which I have not had to get for any of the stuff that needed sorting out shortly after his death, let alone on PPI reclaims.

They have repeatedly ignored my complaints re handling of complaint, loss of critical information and the data breach. Probate website says that generally if amount is under £25k then grant of probate is not necessarily a requirement.

amount owed is way under this; I don't know if I am just being stubborn but not only is it stressful enough when you lose someone I really don't want to have to pay out £200+ for a GoP for one last payment.

BBS can clearly and have accepted mortgage was in joint names, have acknowledged will declares me sole beneficiary and they have had over 10 weeks since Death Cert was sent and four since request for will and now have sprung this on me!

Anyone got any legal advice/ help on this issue as to how I can stand my ground.... oh, I have reported them to the ICO as they have NOT addressed the data breach sufficiently to satisfy my complaint!

Cheers
