Exposure to Electric or Solar Companies

Hi,

Any good ideas for investing in either funds or specific companies (UK or International) that will be leading the way in electric vehicles, batteries, power generation etc?

I have Tesla on the list already, but would love to hear about funds in particular as have a preference for these, over direct investments.

Thanks,

T23

There's a new IT listing shortly ~ Gore Street. Will be investing in battery storage capacity.

I bought ADR's in BYD. Just a little punt.
Its been quite volatile since I bought due to a combination of it being quoted in US dollars and its a Chinese company, so it can be up in $ but I'm down in £ for example.
This is a ten year hold for me i reckon its good potential to be a 5x-10x but maybe it will just crash and burn to zero, I wont lose any sleep if it does and i wouldn't encourage widows or orphans to invest.

Triodos Bank do sustainable funds (and now do an IFISA investing in hydro & wind power etc)
There are also P2P firms such as Abundance in the area you are looking at

I hold two investment trusts: Greencoat (mentioned above) and Thre Renewable Infrastructure Group. Both of them combine unusually low volatility with dividend yield of about five per cent or more. Both of them seem to be essentially a single business and so are like holding shares in a company rather than a usual IT (which itself invests in many companies, each of which is listed separately).

And don't forget that there are several ETFs available: one of the largest and least expensive is offered by iShares.

I would not choose a Mutual Fund to invest in this sector because of potential liquidity issues.
