    Universal Credit/Carer's Allowance 15th Apr 18 at 8:37 PM

I have become unwell was admitted to hospital under section recently and have terminated my employment on good terms.

My partner has stopped working due to me needing help.

What happens when I claim Universal Credit- is there a Work Capability Assessment? I get DLA and partner has PIP.

Was thinking she claimed Carer's Allowance for myself therefore only I would have to jump through a work capability assessment.

Will we be sanctioned as left job voluntary? I was claiming Statutory Sick Pay but due to my health resigned. My partner walked out her job.

The first thing to do is find out whether you have to claim Universal Credit or the old legacy benefits.
