Hi guys,
Haven't had one in years! What are you all using these days? I need it mainly for maps, don't have a satnav anymore, so do everything through the phone.
I change my phone ever 18 months or so, so can't be device specific. Also, I don't really want to start have drilling or using adhesives on my interior
Anything spring to mind?
Thanks.

I use one of the ones that clips onto the air vent, adjustable width for different phones. About a fiver off the market. Does depend on the angie of the air vent though - it was fine in the middle of my old skoda but I have to have in on the door side of my new one as the middle vent is angled too high.
Never got on with the ones you stuck to the dashboard as they toppled over at inopportune moments. Not tried a window mounted one but had the same concerns. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I use a brodit proclip with one of these fitted to it. They are universal and good quality.

ETA I gave up using my phone for navigation. It always seemed to ring just as I was getting to a complicated part of the route0 -
Thanks guys! We looking on eBay and Aliexpress but it's a minefield...
What are those magnetic ones like? I was always under the impression that magnets and batteries didn't really have the best of relationships?0 -
I've avoided the magnetic ones for the same reason, although tbh I don't know if there's any validity to the concern. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Thanks guys, it's look like a window suction-based solution atm...0

I bought one by Olixar to attach to a vent. Its universal, will fit all? most? phones.
Stable, easy to use, doesn't fall off (like others I have had problems with windows mounts).
Haven't found it a problem if the phone rings and I answer (hands free).0 -
I've used a magnetic one for some time now, and having had the same reservations mentioned, haven't had a single problem.0

Metal plate inside the phone case. Very quick,no faffing to put on/off and minimal design.

I have used brodit vehicle specific mounts for years - as above give a platform to mount a device specific holder on.
Previously I have bought said device specific holder from Brodit as well but as many dont accomodate a case, its hard. So, now, have Samsung wireless car charger mounted on the Brodit - I can use this as a wireless charger (powered to the mount) or a passive holder - powered direct to device.0
