Dear all
I have completed a 5 year IVA oct 2017, completion certificate arrived end of Jan. Went to bank with the good credit wife, march 2018
Natwest were hopeful, I wasnt and my wife had a large deposit. We passed the soft credit check, i was amazed. we then went through the whole process i declared the IVA, then.......it was declined.
However, the adviser said dont panic - we can appeal, and the appeal goes to a person not a computer.....24 hrs later the mortgage was officially approved.
Also, I had a CCJ 6 years ago, this has fallen off the credit record - and I had paid it.once I realised I had one this was fully paid around 2015.
We have an interest rate of 2.2%.
I applied for an aqua credit card x 2 days after the oct finish of my IVA, accepted straight away only with a limit of £400 - this has recently be raised to £1450 after using it most months but only for around £50 to then pay off straight away.
credit reports - these have varied...
Noddle has improved slowly since the oct end of the iva but still sits between poor and average.
Clear score is about 479
Experian gives me 999/999 ???
I recommend talking to a mortgage adviser face to face, other 'debt' mortgage advisers stated they couldnt help until oct 2018. I am not getting any younger so I am glad this has proved wrong.
obviously, every case is different - but it finally feels like I am turning a corner
