Greennhouse Glass Cheapest Where?

We picked up this greenhouse for free and some glass with it last summer. Its eventually going on the top left of the photo where the brick base is. Im asking as to where we can get greenhouse glass at a good price to replace the ones that were broken??

I need to get this in place for march so I can start growing things for my garden.

Can anyone advise??

You can sometime get it for nothing off Freegle / Freecycle etc.
If you want to buy it go to your local independent glass merchant.
  • agree with firefox local glass merchant is best place to start. They'll want to know the sizes and they'll give you a quote. When you go to pick the glass up take blankets to cushion each piece and drive carefully.

When Mr S broke one of the biggest panes last year (lawn mower, stone in grass, you get the picture) I bought a made-to-measure replacement pane from our local glass merchant.

That was over £30 - but it's toughened greenhouse glass. Perhaps we've been lucky (says she crossing her fingers!) but this was our only breakage in 12 years.

Horticultural glass is cheaper - but not as robust - and poly sheets are cheaper still. Do you know what type of glass you already have?
  • Just go on Yell.com and find your local glass merchant. Always cheapest and quickest method.
You'll find me in the garden. In the shed. In my greenhouses. Or maybe the local hostelry!
  • Thanks everyone. It's finished now. Half old glass and half new plus perspex for the door end for safety.
