Bought a new car in sept 2017 and this is where's our problems started.

On receipt of our shiny new car we noticed a huge scratch on the drivers side panel where someone lever thought to fill the colour in with a black sharpie pen and sealed it with a clear sealant........took them sick weeks and a complaint for the them to fix it.

Two months in three of our alloys starting corroding and agin it was a fight to get them replaced and even at that whoever put the tyres on the new alloys scratched the . We insisted they change the damaged alloys but they painted them

At just over 4000 miles we noticed the car wasn't driving as smoothly as it was and my hsband suspected the flywheel might be the cause of it..........the garage too kind it on a 2 mile trip (we checked the mileage on drop off) said they couldn't feel it so they wouldn't be looking at it

Then four week ago our brakes started failing where we had to put our full weight behind the break Leda, before it decided stop. This problem occurred as and when it decided not to work. Took it into the garage againa two mi,e round trip and they couldn't feel the fault.......we ended up leaving the car a two the garage parked in front of their workshop in order for the to take us seriously, eventually they phoned warranty who confirmed there was a issue that they had heard of and they changed the servo and gave us our car back .......by this point they had it two weeks

Two days later it was back at the garage as when replacing the servo they've damaged the heaters and now my car in pieces again awaiting for this part coming from Europe and we won't be getting our car back til sometime in the new year

I've lost faith in this car I don't know I feel my brakes can be trusted and all the sale pa team is interested in is getting another sale from us by trading the car in we are having issues with therefore taking debt from current car over to a potential new car.........Evans halshaw customers service is disgusting

Just looking on advice on what our options might be........we are on a pcp deal which again I will never do again

Thank you in advance xx

You need to start the rejection process. You need to look on CAB for the template, stop using the car, get it back to the dealer with the letter of rejection and leave it there. The car is owned by the lease company so I would speak with them and tell them you are rejecting and ask for their advice.

Ok thank you I'll have a look on cab website thank you.

The car I sent back at the dealship with its dashboard and steering column all taken off and awaiting this new part from Europe

I have spoken to the finance company and told them it's not fit for purpose as there has been to many mechanical problems with it so they said they will investigate but could take up to 8 weeks to get a answer

    Thank you for your response

Have you dealt with just the dealer? If so, try contacting Pendragon, who 'own' Evans Halshaw.

Cars are complex and not easy to simply reject - sadly, some of your problems seem to be related to the dealer's poor service. If you do end up keeping it, is there another dealer you can use for future repairs/servicing?

    Hi thanks for your response

Yes the next nearest dealership is half an hour away but it'll be worth it for peace of mind xx

    Hi,
I have had a similar experience to you, I bought a car in October 2017 and I am still unable to come to an agreement with Evans Halshaw after first registering a fault to them 6 weeks after purchase. I have not used the car in over a year and I have involved the National Conciliation Service and had no success with rejecting the car!

I was wondering if you have managed to finally sort it and how you managed to go about it?

    Thanks!
