    O/S Daily Saturday 2nd December 2017

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH and myself up and enjoying first very early cuppas - tried to go back to sleep but couldn't so I'm now surfing on here.

Dinner last night was disjointed as DS1 texted me from work to say he was going out and would it possible to have an early dinner, DH had already said he was on a later finish due to a late job, so organised mine and the boys dinner for earlier, boys had chicken and ham kievs, chips and beans/veg, I defrosted some veggie curry and had that with rice, DH had his kievs etc when he came in, which wasn't as late as he thought. Tonight will just be pizzas, battered chicken portions, salad, curly fries/french fries, coleslaw/pasta salad.

This morning I will be heading into town to visit the bank and building society, I'll also be taking DH's watch in to the jewellers to see what they can do/recommend. DS2 will probably catch a lift too and go to the gym.

Yesterday I got myself into gear a bit more, and got both the xmas puds made, the ironing done after the food shop, so everything feels a bit more organised. This afternoon is likely to be chilled, but may visit the outlaws and my parents.

    Keep safe and well x

Hi everyone and Happy birthday/Anniversary to all celebrating today .

50 years ago a very special person arrived in my life, my eldest DD Shelley, and she has been around ever since I saw her this morning for an hour or so before she went off to visit her pa-in-law our dear Frank in the hospice .She is such a nice caring person and I am so glad to be her Mum, along with her sister Tess.I have been so blessed with my two and I couln't imagine being without them.

I am just about to go up to Bluewater as I want to get a couple of bits for my two special DDs for Christmas there. I may treat myself to a mince pie and a cuppa in JL

Hope everyone is having a great day

    Cheers chums

    JackieO xx

Evening - made it home, incident free! Car is tucked up in the big barn out of any rain.

Did DM's shopping, banking and changed her bed before coming home. I stopped off for a few bits and pieces, nothing much. When I opened the fridge I found a large amount of venison in there. My neighbour had two deer and offered me some. I love chunks of venison for casseroling and there's a piece of loin fillet which I'll freeze for Christmas. Sorted!

It's dark already and there's very low mist too. Don't think I'll bother lighting the wood burner tonight, just pull a throw over me until I head upstairs to watch TV in bed. I know... it's just awful but it's so cosy with the electric blanket on.

Belated Happy Birthday to JackieO's DD.

Snoozer - hope you're OK after that fall. RICE it!

    Afternoon all

Very late posting for me as we were up and out early this morning to go to Ikea to get some hinges which were missed off of our order, we also took some handles back which we did not order and did not like so got a refund on those, which we promptly spent again got a couple more stocking fillers for dd too.

A lot of Birthdays today, its my OH's today as well Happy Birthday to all those celebrating.

We had lunch in Ikea so have just had some cheese and crackers for a snack, log burner is lit and I am about to have a glass of wine

Tomorrow I am going to start putting the stuff back in the kitchen which is a huge job as they are scattered all over the house in every nook !

    Have good evenings all xx

Youngest dd popped round on Friday evening to stay till tomorrow and her middle sister cane round on Friday and stayed till this afternoon.

Made chicken korma and used loads of pots for lunch and made dinner party chicken with green veg and actifry chips for tonight.

We got the tree made up and then went shopping for tinsel and greenery. I am still looking for charger plates but might have found some on ama**n. I want something that can be reused for birthdays or a special occasion not just winter or Christmas so maybe a dull gold rather than red or green.

Older dd came round for lunch but seems very low so contacted carers.

Glad dd will be there for Christmas .

    Hugs to all
