Universal credit tool inaccurate

Just thought I would let you all know, I used the Universal Credit tool eligibility checker on here......
Put in all my details, my partners details and all income etc and it shows as being entitled to Universal Credit.
When I rang them I found I am NOT eligible so either the government are wrong or Martin needs to sort the eligibility checker on here so I don't waste another hour of my time on the phone and filling forms in on this website.
I would be interested to hear if anyone else has had the same issues?

I wouldn't be taking bets on whether the government is right:rotfl:"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

So you'd be applying anyway would you?
And hope Mr Lewis is right?
Cannot understand that, because my tax credits were stopped 2 years ago because I was earning over the threshold and now still on same wages yet it says on here I am entitled.
Doesn't make sense does it?0 -
You could try an independent benefit calculator like Turn2us or Entitledto to see what sort of results you get. May give you a steer0

I did exactly that earlier, used a tool that the gov.uk recommend you use and that said I was entitled to Universal Credit.
I then went to apply...............it said no the minute I said I was part of a couple.
My question......what's the point I having these tools because all of them are useless and a complete waste of time.
The one on here says you are eligible and youre not, then the site the government insist you use doesn't work either, so sounds to me that these sites like to waste everybodys time.
I mean why ask you a question asking if you are part of a couple, asking for their wages, income etc and then find out if you are a couple you are not eligible anyway.
Sounds like a joke to me0 -
Sorry. You didn’t say that.
Did both Entitledto and Turn2us give the same result as the MSE one? It does seem unlikely that they are all wrong. Maybe have a chat with CAB for their view on it?
In the end, to be honest, they are as only as good as the information inputted into them0 -
Not all areas are full service yet. Eg: round here it’s only single non householders that can claim uc. Other circumstances mean you’ll have to claim the older style benefits until your area is full service.
HthPlease be nice to all moneysavers!
