South London hotel - on the tube line with parking?

Options
Hi, we're hoping to go to London one day, watch a show, go back to the hotel and hen drive to Brighton the next day.

We usually park at Hillingdon and then stay centrally, but figured we'd be much better off to drive to South London and try to park and stay there if possible. Can anyone recommend an area suitable? Something that's accessible by tube would be perfect. Thanks!

Plenty of places next to East Croydon station - not on the tube but direct trains from Victoria/London Bridge/St Pancras etc and then direct to Brighton

    As starters there's

    Croydon Park
    Premier Inn
    Hampton by Hilton

If not then look at Wimbledon

If it's in the student holidays, LSE offer their student digs as B&B, they are of a very good standard and in amazing locations.

Bankside is in an amazing location, opposite the Tate Modern and 200m from Shakespears Globe with St Pauls a short walk across the Millenium Bridge (Aka the wobbly bridge).

Parking is about £10 a day, although if it's a weekend there is free parking in the local area after 12.30 on Saturdays

Note if you are visiting on a week day, it is within the congestion Zone.

Thank you so much guys, looks like the LSE rooms aren't available for the dates we need unfortunately but will definitely consider them in the future.

Will look up the east Croydon hotels and parking situation now :D

Have a look at Holiday Inn Express, at least 2 might suit, Wandsworth is just a few minutes from Clapham, there is in fact a mainline to Waterloo almost outside the hotel, takes less than 15 minutes into town or Wimbledon South which has a Northern Line Tube stop almost across the road

There's a Travel Lodge next to Balham tube station which doesn't have parking but which is only a couple of stops from Clapham Junction on the overground railway so would probably take not much more than an hour from Brighton station
