Hi, I'm asking this on behalf of my sister. She works for 30 hours a week, but is only contracted to 20 hours a week and makes up the other 10 hours doing bank shifts. Well, today she received a letter from HMRC asking for pay slips, P45, P60 and contracts. Her pay slips only show how much she is paid, and not the hours, and the contracts will show only 20 hours. So we are now worried sick that they will come back saying she has made a fraudulent claim, despite genuinely working 30 hours a week.
Any advice?

What are "bank shifts"? Surely the payslips will show the overtime for working the extra 10 hours? It's "normal" working hours that count, provided they are all paid, not what the contract says, see

Enclose a note with a breakdown of the hours for each payslip. The contract will show her rate of pay, so they can see the payslips add up to rate x 30 hours.0

Thanks.
We've had a bit of a light bulb moment. My sister made the claim in July last year after finishing university. She had however worked in her job since Dec 2014 to help with university costs. So I am wondering whether they think she has earned 10k over the 9 months, which would have put her over the threshold for claiming.0
