Saw a beautiful tree yesterday but didn't have phone or camera with us. It's in full bloom but has no leaves at the moment. Hubby took the dog for a walk this morning and picked these flower bits up. I wonder if anyone knows what the tree is please.

The flowers are about 2 1/2 inches long and I think they are in clumps.

Thank you for the reply I have spoken. Hubby doesn't think it's a Magnolia, the flower I've shown doesn't have separate petals and it's bell shaped. It's in full bloom like the Magnolias though.

Could be rhododendron, though I would have thought there would be some leaves too.

You could try Googling "photos of Trees with pink blossoms" and see if that provides any clues. The RHS (Royal Horticultural Society website may have a few suggestions too.

    It's Paulownia Tomentosa (foxglove tree).

Thanks for the help, think I've managed to find it and think it's a Paulownia (Foxglove tree). I've ordered one through Amazon but it's very small. Apparently they grow 2ft in a year up to about 8 metres eek.

I'd love one, but just don't have the room for it!

We are lucky enough to have a large garden Silvertabby but not sure where to put it, it grows quite tall doesn't it.
