Car Insurance Outstanding Balance?

Hi all,
New and annoyed but need some expertise.
I had an accident over Christmas, the claim went through on me put couldn't stop it as it was technically my fault as I'am a new driver and put foot down on black ice when i should be pumping on brake instead...
Going forward, I wanted to cancel insurance for personal reasons as work was up road for me still.
And now they want a grand off me for this.
Is this avoidable even though i don't have the car or is this a bad luck moment and pay it?
A grand is allot to me at the moment
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Yella

If the claim was paid, your fault and in this policy period the whole years premium is due even if you cancel.0

Sounds like you had a policy where you chose to pay monthly. This is not a pay-as-you-go month by month, this is an annual policy
There may be a pro-rata refund on a policy if cancelled during the term and there has been no claim
Where there has been a claim, the entire years premium is due0 -
and what happens if this policy was cancelled, could this go to court if outstanding charges was not paid?0

Even if it's cancelled makes no difference.
If you don't pay they will pursue you for the debt.0 -
Dont forget that a lot of insurers are linked. So when you start getting silly quotes and groups of companies drop out it maybe because you owe them money.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
