My father is considering changing from having his pension/benefits paid into a savings account and opening a current account and is a little concerned about giving details out over the telephone to the DWP.

Does anyone know if the DWP send a form out for such purposes?

Do you know if they send this form out if requested or is it just sent out anyway?

Will need to inform DWP Pensions/Pension Credit & Attendance Allowance.

You need to phone them and let them know that there is a change of account. They will send the form on request. You will need to inform Pensions and Attendance Allowance separately.
Stating the obvious, payments will continue to go into the existing account until they have the new details. If they have to send the form to you, and you then have to complete and return it, the process of change could take a couple of weeks.

It really is very easy to do it over the phone - a relative who has PoA for his relative wanted to change the destination account for the AA and State Pension for her and found the staff very helpful.

The details they need is the bank account numbe, sort code, name of bank and name of account holder - ie all the details that are on cheques that the previous generation used to hand out all over the place ! Calling the DWP with that information is not giving out secret information :)

Thanks to all who have replied it is very much appreciated.

My Dad's in his eighties and as I'm sure you can appreciate is nervous about giving out such information. We're currently awaiting account info from his bank so when he has those we'll contact DWP.

    Thank you
