Hi, my gas/electricity provider has not charged me since i called them and asked to move from fixed monthly payment to the actual monthly charge. I have not received any correspondence or bill reminders for last few months.
Am I liable for charges, etc or is it the responsibility of the energy company?
Thanks in advance

In principle you are liable for gas/electricity used.
Does your company produce monthly bills? Most bill quarterly.
If you write to them - recorded delivery - and they still don't send bills, you will not be charged for any energy used in the period over 12 months before you finally get a bill.
e.g. if you finally get a bill in April 2016, all energy consumed before April 2015 will not be charged.0 -
As Cardew essentially says you need to make efforts to get a bill not just hope it will go on unbilled.
Uncorrected by them for more than 12m if you do so & you may get lucky with part of the debt but no attempt to correct the error from you & you'll just end up receiving a huge bill at some future point0 -
Hope you are putting the money aside to cover the cost when a bill does eventually come.
It's not that difficult to work out from the last bill you had and your current meter readings.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
