I'm after some help please
The drain !!!! fitting is leaking on my oso hot water cyclinder.indirect 20ri. I've taken it off and the hole is bunged up with white gunk. Not sure if this is maybe nothing to do with it. The main cause I think is the female thread has actually split it two places.hence it's letting by, how this has suddenly started leaking I don't know. Looks like its always been like it. Does any one know if this is a replaceable park or if it's park of the actual tank moulding.
As I'm the second owner of the flat, which is about 6 years old I haven't got the guarantee details. Oso haven't got back to me after emails and phone calls
Thanks

it's an unvented cylinder & as such you need someone with the G3 cert to repair & service it,
it's not a DIY repair, which is prob why oso aren't interested in talking to youI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Thanks yeah I wasn't hoping to repair it myself. I'm guessing though as the metal has actually split that is going to be a new cyclinder. Rather that a bit that can be replaced.0

get someone in to see what the exact problem is, most unvented cylinders have between a 10 & 25 yr warentee, so you may find it's coveredI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

This is correct, but there is usually a problem, warranties will only usually be valid on Unvented Cylinders IF they have been serviced according to manufacturers specs, and that isnt usually carried out.
Megaflo's for instance, how many have the cylinders drained and the air in the top replenished, even by qualified G3 certified engineers?
Thats why the manufacturers offer such long warranties, because they know they can usually get out of any obligation, they aint daft ya know.Signature removed0 -
Yes Mr T is perfectly correct, not many people know that they should be serviced every year along with the gas appliancesI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
