£500 Pre paid card problem (Vauxhall)

Options
I signed for 63 plate Astra GTC on the 16th of this month.

I was told it would take 7-10 days to get to me & I would recieve a £500 pre paid master card.

Had a phone call yesterday saying that the car will not be here until 14th October and another today saying its now going to be the 12th October, but because it hasnt been registered by the end of the day I'm now not entitled to the £500 card (Even though i signed for it on their promotional day)

There not prepared to knock any more money off the car or throw any extras in as compensation. I either take it or leave it, where do i go from here?

I've been intouch with Vauxhall and they dont seem to be all that interested.

Any help would be greatful.

  • Have you checked the price against online brokers?
They can make £500 look insignificant especially against Vauxhalls which are notoriously over priced at list.

Take this Corsa for example, nearly £5,500 off list price through a broker.

Tell them you're not interested in the car without the card and they can add it to their stock.

Ive just had a look into it, its really cheap for the cars on their. The only problem is the apr and the high final payment. Whereas with Vauxhall its 0% apr and my first payment is the same as my last one

If you don't mind me asking, what spec have you had and what price?
Reason why is I have access to the partners discount site as I used to work for a partner company and can see the prices.

It's currently in the middle of the sea somewhere, but I have to let them know by tomorrow at 12 if I want the car or not. What difference does it make? It still doesn't change its location

I was hoping to see if there was much more movement for them so you could call their bluff.

I've got a quote through the partners scheme and it's no where near your price. (surprised actually I used to get offerings of at least 15%).

The cheapest broker I found was £16k, but as you're not a cash buyer there's interest on top of that. You've definitely got a good price.

Do you have the £500 offer in writing with the order form? I'd still try to get it out of them, explaining it's their fault in delaying the vehicle. Try going to the dealer principle, if you can't get it hopefully they may offer you something in return.

Yeah because I did order one with a perrys dealership a few days previous, telling me they had 'pulled' my car and it would get delivered. Well the day after they didn't have it I would have to wait until December for it... I got that one for even cheaper.. So I'm just guessing there attempting to put me off so I cancel. I'm glad you've shown me the information you have because either way I'm not going to cancel now. Let them make the loss up from their wages

Sounds like one of those cashback "deals", I never really understood why people fall for that stuff?
