Credit file recovery post mortgage defaults.

Hi all,

Not sure if I am posting this in the right place however first post so here goes. I am currently awaiting my ex partner to remove me from our joint mortgage depending on how affordability check pans out. My question is how long it will take for my credit score to recover considering there is numerous defaults on the account. I want to take out my own mortgage once removed but just wondering how long I will have to wait for recovery?

Defaults drop off after 6 years.

So I would have to wait 6 years before I can apply for a mortgage?

6 years after the default was first registered

Seeks advice from a broker before firing mortgage applications off willy nilly. The answer may in years rather than months. Though the way to negate the impact is save a larger deposit.
