Scotch Steak Pies

When we were on holiday in Scotland a couple of weeks ago we bought some gorgeous steak pies from the Co-op. I think they were about £1.79 for a pack of two. They weren't the Scotch pies you get where I live, which are sort of filled with sausage meat, but had stewing steak in them. I thought I might have been able to get them in our Co-op back home on Teesside but they've never stocked them. Does anyone know the brand? I seem to think it was Mac-something (obviously!)

I've only ever had Scotch pies that have stewed steak in gravy in them (and I live on the south coast)!
I like the ones from Asda's pre-packed deli section, though they are small and you need 2 or 3 each!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
It wasn't the Killie Pie, my personal favourite? (You can buy them from Aldi, but I suspect it's a Scotland-only thing): http://www.browningsbakers.co.uk/2010/07/killie-pie/
They mention "party packs" on their site, but I think it's for those in catering..they don't seem to do website orders0 -
Thanks very much for the replies. From the packaging I think they were McIntosh pies, so I've sent them an email to see if they have any local stockists. If not, I'll have to bring a supply home to freeze!0

Morrison's scotch pies aren't too dissimilar to the ones you get in Scotland, well in my opinion anyway. If practice makes perfect, and nobody is perfect....................................

Morrisons scotch pies from the pie shop are nice. Had some from the chillers once but they weren't nice. Think they were the Bells ones.0

The Pie Shop ones are Bell's and they will taste better as they will be fresher than the pre-packed ones.
Saying that, if you had seen what goes into the 'meat' - you wouldn't eat them.0
