The Pie Shop ones are Bell's and they will taste better as they will be fresher than the pre-packed ones.
Saying that, if you had seen what goes into the 'meat' - you wouldn't eat them.
Yeah I think it just because they were precooked chilled that made them not taste nice. The freshly cooked still warm ones were.0 -
Every independent butcher in Scotland has their version of a steak pie. And they are all different!
It's easy to make your own with stewing steak and "links" (beef sausages) and it wil be far superior to any you can buy from a butchers. PM me if you want a recipe.0 -
A Scotch pie is not the same thing as a steak pie though!

I've never had a steak pie with sausage meat in it. Stewing steak only round here. Well, you can add other stuff but that makes it steak and xx pie :rotfl:0 -
