Difference in Postage fees

Looking on EBay auctions for jeans, postage fees between sellers is outrageous, from as low as £2.75, as high as £6.50, all UK sellers, why such a huge difference?

Some haven't adjusted their postage prices since the new rise came in
Some will be charging more on their postage and reducing the cost of the item, to help them get a lower FVF. Which of course means, they will generally suffer from low stars in the P&P section0 -
Am I the only one that carefully weighs and measures their items (clothing) before listing on ebay? I am a private seller and only charge the actual stamp price. Packaging(a mailing sack) is just absorbed in the price of the item. I walk to the post office so don't charge for petrol. Maybe I am just too nice and should try profiting from postage like 75% of sellers on ebay(private sellers). My daughters are my world0

Well, when you sell something, eBay, Paypal and Royal Mail are all making money out of you, in fact it's a multi-billion pound industry, but each to their own, you keep on with your charity. :P
Yes , Royal Mail, *make money* on postage.

£1 Item plus £5 p&p is the same as £5 item plus £1 p&p is the same as £6 free p&p

Problem with charging the exact price is that Paypal charge you 3% on the transaction. So you're down already.0

I'm only a private seller so just start everything off at 99p. I'm not out to make a profit, merely to de-clutter and get rid of anything that is no longer being used. I used to do car boots and sell at 50p an item but with 2 young children this is no longer possible. My daughters are my world0
