Cruise nation booked us on wrong cruise - what now?

Hi, I booked a cruise round eastern med with Cruise Nation leaving on Sunday. After I booked I completed the online check-in on the shipping co's website and it showed the correct cruise.
I got a call today from Cruise nation that they'd booked us on the wrong cruise and there's no availabilty now on the cruise we wanted. They offered us to stay on wrong cruise, with no offer of discount. I declined because I didn't fancy the itinary and they are now giving a full refund.
I intend to complain. I only have until 6 May off on leave and appears to be too late to get another cruise. I've been on travelzoo and tried some of the companies listed there. Any other suggestions for literally last minute holidays, please, or any comeback against cruise nation?
Thanks for reading.

I would certainly claim compensation for 'loss of enjoyment' since they appear to admit they are at fault, I am surprised therefore that you were able to check in for a cruise they do not appear to have booked you on in the first place! It is part of Hays Travel, Mr Hays was on Radio 4 admitting overcharging on credit cards 10 days ago and seems quite keen to accept responsibility when things go wrong, so if Cruise Nation do not do the right thing, contact him directly.
As regards what is available, unless you want to spend ages searching websites, this might be one time when it is worth getting a travel agent, a real face to face one, to do the work for you and see what they can find. Despite what everyone says on this website, there are some good ones, they know you want to book so should be keen to help.0 -
Alan, many thanks for your suggestion, which I intend to follow. Like you I could not understand how I could complete the on-line check-in. Best wishes0

Cruise Nation are a bunch of thieving crooks who changed our itinerary without consulting us or offering any refund or alternatives. We ended up cancelling because we did not like the new itinerary and are over £1000 out of pocket.
Their CEO refused to enter into any correspondence and left his lackeys to brush us off. We complained to Abta who are worse than useless. We complained to BBC watchdog who didn't even respond.
Put us off ever booking a cruise again.
Do NOT give any money to Cruise Nation they are criminals.0
