Is Income Support a taxable benefit?

Is Income Support a taxable benefit for child tax credits? Do you have to inform them?
It says on DWP that Income Support is taxable but then I've looked on the Child Tax Credits website and it says something about Income Support when the person claiming was on strike?
Also do Income Support let Housing Benefit know that you are claiming or do you have to let them know yourself?
Thanks

No, unless due to strike and you're a couple. See:

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2003/1/section/665
But you should tell them as you won't get any income reduction while you get IS, regardless of income over the rest of the year.0 -
you should also let the council know and claim HB and council tax benefit in theory both should be paid at 100% if on IS,with no deduction for savings between 6k and 16k0

I've declared my savings to Income Support which are above £6,000 I've read that they will take £1 from every £250.
I've read so much on here that you can't buy this that and the other whilst on benefits with your savings.
I'm already on full Housing Benefit and Council Tax with Child tax Credits so I'll let them know if and when we get Income Support.0 -
if your savings are above 16k the read up on deprivation of capital0
