Joint claim. Income Support

Options
My partner is on my Income Support claim. My DLA is to be cut and I wondered will my partner need to claim Jobseeker's Allowance. Or will it still be a joint Income Support claim?

  • Are you on IS for reason of Incapacity? If so, your partner may remain on your claim. However you do need to inform the DWP of the reduction in DLA, whilst they should already know, it is best to make sure the information has reached the relevant dept.

Yes due to disability. My partners Carer's Allwance will also stop this is why I thought the partner would need to claim Jobseeker's Allowance.
  • He is fine to remain on the claim as your dependant.
