Amount of savings allowed on ESA and DLA

Options
Hi there. I'm not sure I'm posting in the correct section for this, so if I'm not, please can you guide me to the right place?

Anyway, I'll get to my question.

I currently receive ESA and DLA for mental illness.

My house is in disrepair, and needs a fair amount of money spending on it to make it habitable again, and for my mental health to be improved.

The only way I can see this happening, is with a loan from my bank. I will need roughly £6000 to make things happen.

My question is, how much money can I have as savings before I'm either breaking the law, or have my monetary support reduced?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

DLA is not affected by capital.
ESA-contributions based is not affected by capital.
ESA-income-related may be affected if you have over 6000 pounds in capital.
    _HOWEVER_.

Money got to pay for essential repairs is disregarded for 26 weeks, or longer if seems reasonable.
It must be a loan gotten specifically for this purpose, a general loan may not qualify - if the bank don't care what you spend it on.
