Are we entitled to income support?

Hi there,
I am hoping someone might know if my husband would be entitled to income support, I currently work 17.5 hrs a week, so we have just lost the working tax credits as we dont work 24 hrs between us.
We have a son who we receive dla for, middle rate care and lower rate mobility, my husband is his carer, so he receives the careers allowance so he doesn't claim job seekers.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
Mrsh

Yeah, he has a condition of entitlement, whether he would receive anything though is a different question0

There is another thread on here somewhere - I'll try to find the link. I'm sure it said that WTC can still be paid to a couple where they only work 16 hours a week if one is a carer. I think it was a last minute change to one of the government policies.

Good catch kingfisherblue. Looks like they need to get back to HMRC and get the WTC reinstated.0

Absolutely, contact HMRC and tell them your husband is entitled to carer's allowance and that you want your working tax credit reinstated.
If you need to quote anything to them, the exception is confirmed here: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcreditsbudget/index.htm#2
