AA Travel Currency Card

Morning everyone!

Has anyone used of looking into this card please. Thinking of applying but just checking there are no horror stories from any first please?

Hi there, I used a currency card (t. cook master card ) for my las vegas trip very easy to use , mainly used it for dining out, it lasts for about 3 years so can use again next time no problems at all , would use again .

The main issues to watch out for are the rate of exchange you get when loading funds and the cost (if any) of withdrawing them.

I have a Caxton euro card which offers a competitive exchange rate when loading the card and no atm fees, but a minimum load of €150. The FairFX card offers a better exchange rate but has a €1.50 atm fee and a minimum load of £50. If you withdraw a large amount of cash (€200+) at a time then the FairFX may work out cheaper to run.

If possible, go to each site and check the rate at that time. I have seen quite a few euro difference between sites which adds up when loading hundreds of pounds worth.
