Income support hasn't been paid this week and its messed up my budget

Hello
Really hoping someone might be able to advise.
My income support was due to be paid on Tuesday but didn't go in. I left it until today in case they were sending a giro as I haven't actually been claiming long (since January). But nothing.
I've called them this morning and the women said she had no idea why I haven't been paid, that it had been changed to a 4 week payment and I would get the money on Monday. She couldn't see any reason or note as to why it was changed.
But i've got DD coming out of the bank tomorrow and they won't be cancelled in time so i'll go overdrawn! Plus because its a 4 week payment it's now messed up all my budgeting for the next 4 weeks.
Apparently there is nothing they can do
I've tried ringing CAB but they are closed today in my local area, is there anything I can do here?

Could you ask for a crisis loan until your payment goes in? not sure how benefits work but might be a option.
Are there any family or friends who could lend you the money for a few days?
Do you have an overdraft facility on your bank account? if so then it won't be a problem as long as your not at your limit.0 -
No overdraft facility, I could borrow the money until Monday but I hugely dislike borrowing from anyone.
It seems ridiculous that they can just not pay with NO notice, no letter, no nothing!0 -
This may not be of any help but I posted earlier that my daughters income support hasnt gone in today, she rang them and they said there was no reason why it shouldnt have been paid and they would make an instant money transfer this afternoon. They didnt say anything about it changing to 4 weekly payments though so I guess its a different situation to you.
I didnt know they could just do that anyway without informing you well beforehand so you should get some advice, and I agree about trying for a crisis loan as its not your fault and they have left you short of money in the mean time as you havent budgeted for it.not all on benefits are scroungers and don't need to be bullied!0 -
Sherby, I would ring them again. They should definitely have informed you if payments are changing to four weekly. Try ringing again as the person you spoke to the first time may have misinformed you (this does happen) and another advisor may be able to assist further perhaps.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0

I have rung them again, this is apparently a one off 4 week payment and then its going back to 2 weekly. The woman on the phone had no idea why.... I've just spoken to the crisis loan people and they won't help because my child tax credit is due to go in on Saturday (although its usually Monday) and they'll only loan a small amount for food etc, nothing for the direct debits. Not to mention that he pretty much called me a liar and said he had never heard of income support being paid 4 weekly so it was very unlikely that it had actually happened.0

This is horrible. I've NEVER been on benefits in my life, this is a temporary measure due to a my husband walking out in December. They really know how to make you feel like you're begging though!0
