Purchase protection on barclaycard??

We bought a phone from a shop the week before xmas on barclaycard platinum visa. This was stolen a week later. We did not have it insured. We hoped we were protected with barclaycard under purchase protection for up to 90 days. Having spoken to them they say there is no cover and they don't know what we are talking about. I have read about this on some comparison web pages which link to barclaycard but not anything directly on their site. Can anyone help?

A quick google suggests it was withdrawn from personal cards (at least for new customers) several years ago.
You'll still enjoy it (subject to a minimum £75 spend) if you were an Egg Money card customer, migrated over to them last year, and now have a Barclaycard World card account.0
