Hi all,
I've got to setup a D-Link G604T dsl router for a friend tomorrow who is on Pipex broadband.
I can't find the settings for the router anywhere... does anyone know them please? i.e. encapusulation..etc

get friend to login www.pipex.com
go into technical support -> installation and connection ->
adsl connection setup -> I use an adsl router ->
I installed Router and Microfilters.
and pick a router, try the dlink 5040 -

again have tried this, cant see a technical support link. may possibly come up, if you log in however dont have those details as i am not on pipex, just need the settings please so i can set the router up before i go there.Smile... it's free0 -

The "Multiple PVC" Page will be displayed. Please confirm or enter information as follows:-
In the "VPI" Box, ensure that 0 (zero) is entered. check paperwork
In the "VCI" Box, ensure that 38 is entered. check paperwork
In the "Encapsulation" Box, select "PPPoA VC mux".
In the "Login User Name" Box, enter:
[EMAIL="yourusername@xtreme4.pipex.net"]yourusername@xtreme4.pipex.net[/EMAIL] this depends on what pipex supplied you.
In the "Login Password" Box, enter your PIPEX Xtreme password
In the "Confirm Password" Box, enter your PIPEX Xtreme password again to confirm it.
In the "Authentication" Box, select "chap".
In the "Connect On Demand" Box, select "enabled".
In the "Idle Time" Box, ensure that 0 (zero) is entered.
If you have added connection details where none existed previously (i.e. there was previously no index number), click "Add". If you have changed, or added to, connection details already present on this Page (this includes any default details), click "Modify". The main details of your new connection will appear in the line of Boxes at the top of the Page.
Click "Apply".
you could always login on your computer on the pipex site with their password/username to get the details.0 -
