Gift Ideas For The Difficult

Oh, good people of MSE, help me!
My boyfriend's mum's birthday is coming up, and I'd really like to get her a nice gift. Thing is, I'm stumped as to what! These are my many, many problems:
1) I can't spend much, probably about £10 would be my budget.
2) She isn't really into sweets or smellies.
3) I've already done the pot plant idea.
4) Hasn't got time to read.
5) Has a zillion cookbooks and cooking things already. Also feels like it would be a bit of a busman's holiday as her job has to do with cooking as well.
6) Clothes, accessories or jewellery I get for my own mum, but couldn't pick for her. And it somehow doesn't feel entirely suitable to be buying my boyfriend's mum things like that.
7) I also couldn't pick music or a DVD, she doesn't seem to be that into those either.
My best ideas so far are a warm woolly scarf and to make a birthday cake, but it doesn't seem like enough. I need something else!
This needn't be all about my birthday gift-idea problems though. Does anyone have any fantastic gift ideas for other occasions? Do you even have someone of your own that you're having trouble thinking of what to give them, and need new ideas?

I always had this problem with my mother in law when I first met my husband, best presents we ever bought her were a george forman grill and a 4 slice toaster (she can have the entire extended family at her house which including us came to 10+ people and she had a carppy 10 year old 2 slice toaster that she used to stand at for half an hour making people toast )
One of my mums favourite gifts was a really comfy pair of slippers
My favourite gift was bought by DS 10, who bought me some lovely beads for my jewellery crafting, my other favourite gift was a sandwich toaster  what can I say? i like toasted sandwiches

Why not buy a nice photo frame and put either a picture of yourself and boyfriend in it or boyfriend and mum? TK Maxx do some really nice ones that are good value for money but don't look 'cheap' IYSWIM0

Lovely ideas, please keep them coming! I forgot to say she doesn't drink much either, luckily no one said that!
I am now distracted imagining Jakes-mum and her giant family of toast-maniacs0 -

Hiya
How about making some nice chutney using prettied up reused jars? Red onion chutney is fairly cheap to make, it would supplement her meals with no prep from her, they always go down well with my mother in law

I don't know whether you are a couple with children but you could buy a digital frame and put some pictures of you and other half (kids, pets etc). You can pick digital frames up quite cheaply these days and makes a lovely personal gift. This is what I am doing for my grandad as he doesn't drink, doesn't eat chocolate and we have no idea what he likes lol.Comping wishlist for 2017
1. Family holiday 2. Christmas presents :rudolf: 3. Fishing stuffThe more you put into life, the more you get out0 -

My MIL is so difficult to buy for. She has 4 daughters and one DIL. I try and be thoughtful with pressies so try and avoid getting her a 5th pair of slippers and a 5th bunch of flowers
The photo thing goes down really well. I have done various takes on this, photo book, photo clock, and one of these.
I've done clothes, DVD's, books with no sucess. I'm trying Jewellery this year so we shall see how that goes.
I like the chutney idea though that is nice and personal.
Good luck0
