hi
i just join after many months of lurking.
my friend has a problem which has her very scared, its rossendale bailiffs. she has a repayment plan set up for council tax of £103 a month. she accidently let him in thinking it was a friend by shouting down the stairs come in (i know face palm). any way a list was taken and payment plan set up. now last month the payment was £30 short. she rang them to let them know but couldnt pay it. she got a letter yesterday saying they would becomming around unless she paid the full amount. so she rang the bailliffs number and was told he was comming round monday which she replied i wont be able to pay it. his reply was ok i will round in the f***ing morning. then she rang rossendale direct to see if she could pay the £30 pound outstanding and the nasty woman said it dosent matter if u pay it or not u have defaulted. and to ring the bailiff back. she is to scared to do.
she is a single parent and the council said it was out of there hands.
just as en extra note i only found out last night when i called round and seen the final notice posted into her porch for every one calling to see.
any advice would be greatful.
steve

what goods have been listed on the notice of seizure
what charges have been listed on the notice of seizure
    does she work
    can she record her calls

Tell her not to let him in when he calls again

are any of the goods listed on HP/finance
do the pictures and tables have a value (are they top of the range tables or bought from cheep shop)are the pictures limited additions ,famous artists or bog standard cheep shop )
I am not trying to slag of her property but

goods levied must cover all bailiff fees to include visit fees, levy fee, walking possession fee, attendance to remove fee, removal fees, storage fees ,auction fees, and a portion of the principle debt

she will get no where with the council they will tell her its out of there hands because its with rossendales (not true) rossendales Will tell her to speak to the bailiff and the bailiff will be his usual obnoxious intimidating self

please tell her to record the calls you will be surprised how high the council Will jump when you can prove there contractors (the bailiff) is bulling sewering intimidating her

if she doesn't record the call bailiff will deny all then its her word against his and they always believe the bailiff

as a single parent she may be classed as venerable according to the national standards for enforcement agents

Is her bailiff certificated to rossendales www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/CertificatedBailiffs

the only bailiff by that name is not certificated to rossendales please phone the Ministry of Justice Public Register of bailiffslink3.gif on 020 3334 6355 and if mr Roache has changed his employer if yes when

    bailiff fees 6th June
    1st visit fee 24.50
    2nd visit fee £18

    levy fee £37
walking possession fee £12 (if she signed the notice of seizure)
total bailiff fee on the day of the levy can be no more than £91.50
there can be no further fees added to this account until she missed her payment then a van/attendance to remove will be charged which i presume was on the 15th September

    phone the council and ask
    amount of liability order
    date of liability order
date it was passed to rossendales

fees to date added by the bailiff
    date of each fee
    reason for each fee added

don't let the council tell her they don't know what fee the bailiffs have added they do its on the screen in front of them (thats why its best to record all calls)

If the Ty was bought from her mothers catalogue whose name is it in
