My income support has been stopped help needed please

Options
As the title says, help needed, let me explain.

I'm a single mum on Income Support, I am also disabled, and unfortunately due to continuteing health issues, full time work is out of the question, as I sure there will be people saying you should be in work.

My daughter will be 9 this year, although it came that IS stops after the child is 7, and its either jsa or apply for ESA, but as I recieve disability premium, we are treated the same as IB claimants, and the changes can happen between now and 2014, I go every 3 months for my lone parent review.

I had been working casually with mystery shop work, between 2006, and April 2010, (before my last accident), I was originally earning between £10 and £15 per month, everything was declared and all above board, over the 08/10 years my heath was deterioting, so as a result I was pucking less work, again all this was documented to the DHSS, and finally I had an accident in May 2010, which meant I can no longer work. As the payment never tied up with the work date, I had an arrangement with the DHSS, that I would have a seperate bank account, send in statements monthly along with invoices, (as it was self employed), my last job was in April 2010, so I sent that invoice in, alomg with a letter stating that die to an accident I was no longer working, I also followed that with 2 months of bank statements, - in June 2010, I stopped sending statement, but continued informing the lone parent advisor of the situation.

Then in June this year I have a letter from DHSS asking for last 12 months invoices, I wrote back explaining that I had not worked in the last 12 months and had informed them at the time.

Then I had a call end of June a review, I then had a letter saying my benefit hadn't changed dispite my circumstances changing, on the age where they work out what you have coming in, they had taken the line off stating disgred income.

yet today I get a letter saying my IS has been stopped due to me not sending the information in June, if there no invoice how can I send them, and I did everything by the book.

Its really living me in a state, i suffer with depression, and this has not helped my condition, I tried to ring but the offices are closed to Monday, i'm at my wits end, and really need some sensible help and advice.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help xx

I think you need to get on the phone to them first thing monday morning, I've had a income support problem myself. They sent a A2 review form i filled it in sent it back, and then they asked for my bank statements, sent them in also but this was the very same week the jobcentre plus and departments was going on strike that one day, so they lost my current account statement (sent to another department). I got a letter through other day saying they had suspending my income support, all because of there mistake. I got onto them the same day i gave them a good telling off, they lifted the suspension, but they didnt tell the income support department to start my payments again. I check my bank account friday and it didnt go in so i had to talk to them again about it last friday. Theres no talking between the departments its like one hand doesn't know what the other hands doing. There so trigger happy.

Try not to worry. Go and see them and take the new award letter down that you got which states your money stays the same. Explain to them exactly what you explained to us here and I am sure they will sort it out :)

thank you both, sorry you have both had problems, def agree re one hand not knowing what the other is doing.

I know it sounds awful, but I begin to feel why do I be so honest, it really feels that honesty doesn't pay.

I'm going to ring afternoon, figured end up on hold 1st thing as everyone is bound to ring on a monday morning.

Will let you all know, a massive massive thank - you again. xx

I've rang this morning, and explained everything, the lady was really nice, she went through the letters recieved and the dates and apparently the system hadn't updated to say that I no longer mystery shopped... she reassured me that she has updated the system and everything will go back to normal, while I feel I should be jumping for joy, I'll be happy when I see the money going in. Hopefully be the end of it.

I said to the woman, I feel that I'm being punished for being too honest, and she said I can see where your coming from, but your doing everything right, xx

Oh I am so pleased! I was hoping it would be admin error, these things usually are, although it diesn't help stop the worry at the time.

Bit more of an update, positive... got a letter this morning saying my Income Support and been reinstated and would be paid fortnightly as due, - which is next fri, although the letter makes me feel 99% positive, I know it may sound totally daft, but what to see the money in there then I'd be 100% happy.
Just so glad it looks like the lieft hand didn't tell the right what it was doing!! x
