can I Get JSA?

Hello,

In my current job I'm working less than 16 hours, but the job i had before this one I left voluntarily (didnt like the job) would I get JSA or would I be sanctioned for leaving my previous job if I claimed. Does anybody know the exact rules on this? Thanks

I doubt that you can claim JSA based on jacking in a Job voluntarily, just because you didn't like your previous job, at least not for a period of time, perhaps 26 weeks.

Are you actively seeking full time work currently?.

This thread is pretty similar to your own, so you'll probably find more accurate answers already posted here:-

  • Yes.

So can I still get sanctioned for for leaving a job even though I have took another job since (the one Iam currently in). Thats is what I'm not sure of:)
  • How many hours did you used to work in your previous job?. Did leaving your previous job voluntarily leave you financially worse off now, than you were previously?.

These *might* be things which could get looked at when you apply, but then again i'm no expert.

Did you give up the last job then take on the part time job or were you doing both jobs at the same time?
You are eligible to make a claim but they will take into account the reasons why you left your last job only.
They will also take into account the wages you are currently receiving minus the £5 disregard.
  • It has left me worse off, I left the last job without really thinking it through properly.
Yes I gave up my last job then took up the part time work afterwards. Does that change anything?
