Deposit for first house

I am trying really hard to save a deposit for my first house, but, property prices have increased at a faster rate than I can save!!
Has anyone got any ideas of how to make a little bit of extra cash to try and make up the difference? I watched Martin n GMTV and have now sent of emails to find out about if any of my old phones are worth anything, but if anyone has any more ideas I would be really grateful!
Thank you

Welcome to the boards LouiseClaire, its lovely to have you aboard. I think the whole site is a wealth of information but have you seen a copy of Martins new book? Its a great read and you can take bite sized chunks to digest as slow and as fast as you like. I recommend it.

Welcome to the site, Louiseclaire.
You're definitely on the right tracks by visiting this site.
For ideas about making a bit of extra money THIS THREAD might be a good place to start.
You could also look at selling unwanted items on eBay or books at Amazon Marketplace (which is easier to use for a novice.) There is lots of useful advice HERE
Good luck!

Don't worry too much, in a couple of years' time house prices are very likely to be lower than they are today. By then you'll have built up a nice nest-egg and will be in a very good position to buy.0
